Over 300 million people are using this feature daily, and the brands have been uploading on Instagram stories twice as often as on Snapchat.

I think those numbers talk for themselves!

Also, with the new 2018 algorithm change, Instagram made it a necessity to use the story feature. Those accounts that use this feature daily have a better chance of being noticed and getting on explore page!

While we already discussed how to plan your Instagram feed and what to post on Instagram, today we are going to talk about how to create banging Instagram stories so you could grow your account faster and get on explore page!

Let’s get started.

So, let’s begin with what type of content to share on your Instagram stories.

As a business, you have many options like:

1. Promote a product.
2. Do a poll.
3. Share behind the scenes.
4. Shout out to another account.
5. Boomerang (hell yes!).
6. Promote a blog post.
7. Tease on what projects you are working.
8. Answer questions from your audience.
9. Do an office/living space tour.
10. Show more of your personality.

As you can see, there is plenty of different types of content you can share with your audience, and each one has its advantages. While photos you post on Instagram might not get much engagement because of the algorithm, your stories can increase the chances of your being seen by your audience.

So, there are a few things to keep in mind if you want to get the best result with your Instagram stories:

1. Hashtags.

Use hashtags even when creating a story! Hashtags are a currency of Instagram, and you should be using them EVERYWHERE! Of course, do not use 30 hashtags because people won’t be able to see the story itself, but adding one or a few is perfect.

2. Use CTA’s.

CTA stands for a call to action in marketing terms, and marketers use them everywhere. Somehow, many entrepreneurs either don’t know how to use them or are shy to coming across as too pushy.

If you are in the second category of entrepreneurs, let me tell you – being shy is not going to work when it comes to social media. Especially when it comes to using calls to action on Instagram! People tend to need a little push when it comes to commenting or liking, so you need to do a little work for them to engage with you.

There are plenty of ways how to use CTA’s without looking like a salesperson. Such as:

1. ‘Double tap if you agree’.
2. ‘Tag three people who can relate’.
3. ‘Swipe up to see more!’.
4. ‘Click on the link in the bio to find out my secret’.

You see, they are pretty simple phrases that you see on social media every day. However, those simple phrases can increase your engagement!

75 % of people take action when they see a post on Instagram so increase your chances with simple CTA’s even more.

Now after we discussed what type of content you can post and a few things to keep in mind, let’s talk about the creative side.

How the hell do you create beautiful and attractive stories?

Well, you are in luck, because there is so many tools and apps now that help you make stories pretty in a matter of minutes! Here are a few of my favourites:

1. Canva.

If you did at least a little bit of research already, you are probably tired of everyone talking about Canva. However, let me tell you, people rave about it not without reason! If you are not good with using Adobe products, then Canva is the best way to create layouts, social posts and everything you can ever need for your business. Instagram stories ideal dimensions are 1080px wide by 1920px tall. With Canva you can easily create beautiful stories within a few minutes!

I have created three different free Instagram story template packs with Canva for you, so check them out at the end of this post (but don’t skip, there is still more valuable information!).

2. InShot.

If you prefer working on the go with your phone, In Shot app is perfect for you. With this app, you can quickly take videos, photos and edit them. Add fonts, different effects and make collages. Everything easily accessible with your phone wherever you are.

3. Unfold.

Another app that is perfect to create Instagram stories is Unfold. It has different layouts to try and is easy to use. It has beautiful minimalistic templates and is very elegant. If that is your jam, you have a perfect app on your hands!

This little gem is for all the vintage/retro fans out there! This app is designed to create old-school looking videos and photos and has many filters to choose from. So, if you are not a fan of modern-day videos, this app will make you the happiest person in the world (I know I was HAPPY AF when I first discovered it!).

So, now the fun part for you guys.

I have created three different styles of Instagram story template packs (4 different templates in each package) with Canva:

1. Get the Californian templates here.
2. Get the Minimalistic templates here.
3. Get the Feminine templates here.

So, lovelies, I hope that you found this blog post helpful and my templates useful.
